About Us
Fidra is an environmental charity working to reduce plastic waste and chemical pollution in our seas, on our beaches and in the wider environment.
The Great Nurdle Hunt is Fidra’s flagship project working to end nurdle pollution. We provide the tools and information so that anyone can contribute to, and build evidence of this, issue. By working with individuals and organisations worldwide, we can highlight the extent of nurdle pollution and show that the people care.
Our work on nurdle pollution uses information gathered by The Great Nurdle Hunt, along with best available scientific evidence and research best practice to establish and inform wider dialogue with industry and government. We influence positive environmental change at national and international levels to end further industrial plastic pellet or ‘nurdle’ pollution into our seas.
This project was established by Fidra, an environmental charity based in East Lothian, Scotland.
