WORLDWIDE MONITORING EFFORTS
Organisations and individuals have been monitoring beaches for nurdles all over the world and calling for the source of this problem to be addressed. Collating all the data collected shows us that nurdle pollution is truly widespread, and nurdles spilt in one country can end up on beaches hundreds of miles away.
The following section gives some examples of where pellets have been found around Europe – you can also explore all the pellet finds reported to us on our Nurdle Map.
EUROPEAN NURDLE HUNTERS
Convened by Fauna & Flora International (FFI), The ‘European Coalition to End Plastic Pellet Loss’ is a group of Non-Government-Organisations from across Europe who have been working to collate existing knowledge on pellet loss.
